Do you know a special volunteer, active duty or military veteran who has selflessly served? Is there a police officer or fire fighter that goes above and beyond the call of duty? Does your child have a special teacher or coach that goes the extra mile? With their Hometown Heroes promotion, FUN 107 and WBSM invites you to nominate individuals who have a positive impact on our community. Nominated individuals will be entered into a contest and the hero with the most votes wins!
As part of our Hometown Heroes sponsorship, we will give the winning Hero gift certificates to a few of our favorite, fellow small businesses! We are excited to give away these fantastic prizes:
1. $100.00 gift certificate to Mahoney’s Building Supply in Mattapoisett. Customers can shop for a new grill, home decor (they have Saltmarsh Pottery!), hardware, lawn and garden accessories, sporting goods, power tools, hand tools, heating and cooling products, and more! For over 100 years Mahoney’s has been serving customers from SouthCoast Massachusetts to Boston, Cape Cod and the Islands.

Located directly across from our office – it’s tough to resist the delicious soups, salads, sandwiches (the Vermonter is one of our favorites), cupcakes, and cookies (we love their ginger molasses!) from our friends at Flour Girls! With an eclectic atmosphere, creatively delicious menu and super service, Jill and her team are always serving up homemade creations that will have you coming back for more!
We also proudly support military heroes (our very own Nate Pickup is a graduate of the United States Military Academy who served as an officer in the United States Army and Massachusetts Army National Guard.) through various programs. Care Free Homes donates part of the proceeds from every Mastic vinyl siding project to Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit that builds mortgage free homes for wounded warriors and their families. As a GAF Master Elite contractor we are also excited to offer our veteran and active duty military customers the $250 Roofs For Troops rebate when they install a GAF Lifetime Roofing System.
