FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 28, 2022 – Fairhaven, MA – Care Free Homes, Inc. surprised Barry Youngblood, a veteran from Acushnet, Massachusetts, with a free GAF roof; Youngblood was a finalist in their Annual New Year, New Roof Giveaway.
Communities from Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Massachusetts nominated deserving, in-need homeowners for the roof giveaway earlier this year. Care Free Homes selected five finalists from the nominees to move onto the final, voting round. The community voted online to choose the winner. Barry Youngblood, a local veteran, earned the most votes to win. The surprise reveal can be seen below:

Barry had buckets collecting rainwater inside his house – they thought he would have to move. With a new roof, he can happily live in the comfort and safety of his own home.” said Care Free Homes Marketing Coordinator, Stephanie Pickup.
This is the 7th year Care Free Homes has partnered with GAF Roofing to give one homeowner a GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system at absolutely no cost. Other local businesses and organizations also provided support. Community partners of the New Year, New Roof Giveaway include Black Tie Cookies, Isaksen Solar, Machado & Silva, United Way of Greater Fall River, and United Way of Greater New Bedford. Black Tie Cookies donated gourmet cookie arrangements to the winner and the finalists. Isaksen Solar donated gift certificates and free consultations to the winner and the finalists. Machado & Silva provided free financial coaching to the winner. United Way of Greater New Bedford and United Way of Greater Fall River helped promote the giveaway and connect qualified homeowners to the program.
