New Year, New Roof Giveaway: As we dive into our 5th annual roof giveaway – we are excited to celebrate our 2019 winners, the Art Family of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Peter and Audrey had just bought a fixer upper and welcomed their third baby girl into the world when their middle daughter, Eleanor, was diagnosed with leukemia. Home improvements were put on hold while the family persevered through Ellie’s medical challenges. Thanks to our New Year, New Roof Giveaway, the Art Family stepped back onto a positive path with a new GAF Timberline HD Roofing system! Care Free Customer Weekend Getaway: Past customers and referrals are responsible for over 60% of our business each year. As a way of showing our appreciation, we created the Care Free Customer Referral and Rewards Program. Each time a referred homeowner joins the Care Free family, the customer who referred that particular homeowner receives a $100 VISA gift card plus a chance to WIN our White Mountain Weekend Getaway. West Island 5K, Fairhaven Father’s Day Road Race, Fairhaven Turkey Trot Sponsors: We love to support and align ourselves with other organizations who give back. The West Island 5K, Fairhaven Turkey Trot, and Fairhaven Father’s Day Road Races raise funds that go directly to our local youth and other worthy community initiatives. Each year we are excited to be donors, volunteer running coaches, and hosts of post-race celebrations with fresh fruit and Care Free goodies for runners and spectators. Award-Winning Supporters of United Way: Health, Education, Financial Stability, and Basic Needs are at the heart of United Way’s work in 
the community. We have fully embraced their mission as financial supporters, volunteers, and advocates. We proudly support education through several programs such as Power of the Purse, Laundromat Literacy, and their annual School Supply Drive. Our family is very passionate in working with United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Hunger Commission by hosting food drives and volunteering at their Mobile Market and Hunger Heroes Project. Each year we sponsor a family through their Holiday Wish program and this year we provided additional support to their Mini-Miracle program. We also help with their annual campaign as donors and sponsor their Annual Clambake with Lobster. United Way values our family’s contributions so much so that they nominated us as their Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year – we made Top 30 in the country! Care Free’s Stephanie Pickup also received their Community Champion award.
Buttonwood Park Zoological Society Supporters: Nature and conservation are essential to the wellness of planet and our community. We 
are proud to support the Buttonwood Park Zoological society and the wonderful programs they provide to local families and world-wide conservation efforts. Our company donated the roof to their newest Red Panda exhibit and enthusiastically supports their annual Boo at the Zoo fundraiser! Explore the wonderful world of nature with a zoo membership and learn about their exciting events throughout the year!
SouthCoast Business Alliance Supporter: Our family is proud to be a supporter of the SouthCoast Business Alliance as a sponsor of their Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament and New Bedford Oktobefest. Care Free customer, Nick Francis, is the SCBA Emeritus who introduced us to the organization’s mission and work over a decade ago. The SouthCoast Business Alliance supports local charities and at-risk youth in our community.
Fairhaven Acushnet Youth Baseball Sponsor: We believe in the power of youth athletics! Teamwork, good sportsmanship, perseverance and dedication are required in both sports and in life. We sponsor a team each year because we believe the challenge of competitive sports help lay a strong foundation for our children’s futures. We’re also proud to say that Care Free Homes co-owner, Dana Pickup, Jr., has been a volunteer coach for the past five years!
